Curriculum, Pedagogy, and e-Assessment," drawing from my personal experiences.

A. Curriculum:

“Curriculum” means an educational program designed to achieve the purpose of Education (National Education Plan 2028). Different scholars define the meaning of Curriculum in different ways. The Word “Curriculum” is derived from Latin word current which means to race course. A document containing a statement of the aims and of the specific objective is define curriculum. Curriculum covers the content, objectives, and learning experiences that shape educational programs as well as professional table of content. It acts as a roadmap, guiding educators, learners, different employer toward desired outcomes. Such As, a student prepares a 1-year academic plan to study in class 1, and the school prepares a 1-year lesson plan according to the student's ability to learn in 1 year. The purpose of the lesson is to prepare the students for what time they will take the exam, what method and method to take the exam. A plan related to lesson are called curriculum as well as plan related to profession or business are called work plan. My profession is not a teacher, I am working in accounting field so, this course support me to design annual work plan at office. The curriculum provides a framework for educators to design lessons, units, and assessments that facilitate student engagement, critical thinking, problem-solving, and application of knowledge, similarly I also design a quarterly work plan to get organization goals and achievement for company growth, Staff promotion and business growth. The design of curriculum is defined as a comprehensive plan that outlines the educational content, learning objectives, instructional methods, and assessment strategies for a specific course, program, model or particular level in educational institution. Through the curriculum, teachers focus to pass the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to students.

The guiding framework of curriculum is serves and determines under the question what is taught, how it is taught, and how student learning is evaluated at an academic year. It provides a roadmap for educators, helping them make informed decisions about content selection, instructional strategies, and assessment methods to ensure meaningful and purposeful learning experiences. Accordingly on the context of curriculum related with my profession, such as in accounting profession, we apply how is keep recording of day-to-day transaction, when it is required to post in concern account head, how the financial position present to the stakeholder. I design the office annual frame work according to academic curriculum. Our Nation also presented the annual budget end of the financial year which we can compare with curriculum.

In this National annual budget development involves careful consideration of various factors, such as the social needs and interests of the residence’s peoples, societal expectations, Area-specific requirements, and local development goals.

According to curriculum development involves ongoing reflection, evaluation, and revision to ensure its relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with evolving educational standards and goals, similarly, we can take ongoing reflection from our society such as development process, completing of development project like road, drinking water, changes of cultivation, etc. with dynamic and iterative process.

that takes into account the changing needs of students, advancements in knowledge and technology, and the broader societal context.

In summary, curriculum is a comprehensive plan that guides educational programs by outlining the content, learning objectives, instructional methods, and assessment strategies. It is a vital component of the educational system, shaping the teaching and learning experiences and influencing students' intellectual, social, and personal development.

Let's continue with the exploration of curriculum within the context of e-assessment.

B. Pedagogy:

A Design of Theory and Particle assessment in educational institution is known as Pedagogy. It includes the different strategies of teaching approach & methods, employed by educators to facilitate students to promote the intellectual, social, and professional development. Pedagogy refers the content to taught and the methods of instruction, assessment, and classroom management. In this 21st Century progressive education system, pedagogy play a vital role in academic sector. Pedagogy always focusses on the interaction between the teachers and learners. Such as it is model of formative assessment. Pedagogy supporting in the assessment of as earning, for learning and of learning.  Assessment for Learning: It is to monitor the student learning to provide ongoing feedback that can be used to instructors to improve their teaching and by students to improve their learning. Assessment for learning is a part of formative assessment and it helps students identify their strength and weakness and target goals and areas that need work where students are struggling and addressing problem immediately. For represented continues measure, monitor and evaluate dally task of the students. I come to know the students’ behaviour inside the class room and advise them for improvement immediately. This Assessment system dragonets the error and mistake and provide solution immediately. If they did any mistake, immediately we provide feedback to the students. Method of Assessment for Learning allow for the active involvement of students in their own learning. At the time of teaching, how much the students don't understand is done by asking questions in the class, repeating what the students don't understand, observing, and checking how much ability they have. It is an integral part of the learning process of pedagogy. The assessment aim is promoting learning and teaching among students and teachers. Main aim is focus on leaning progress.
For Example: In my personal opinion, I should keep my little son with him in the worship room at home and do puja meditation like first watering water, lighting lamp, lamp puja, kalas puja, panchayan deva puja and worshiping the Ishta devata, etc. Next day, I let him to do puja himself and he did Panchandev puja after Deep puja, then I remind him to do Kalas puja before Panchan puja, it is an assignment for learning of progressive education pedagogy.
The pedagogy under the Assessment as Learning, It is an educational concept that views assessment as an integral part of the learning process itself. It is known as self-assessment. The person who are actively involved in self- assessment and reflection, taking ownership. For example, when a cook is cooking, he decides the taste of different dishes like Nepali Thali, Continental food, Chinese disk, etc. So, pedagogy focuses on particular them and objectives. The pedagogy under the Assessment of Learning represented the summative assessment. It is used at the end. It is a Terminal assessment. End of the period it takes like 3-month exam. It’s taken Assessment by using pen paper test format and conducted by school. Giving limited time to solve the question answer and I used this method for grade level promotion. As per different profession this method can be applied by own ways. For example, after completed the construction, Engineer certifies the building and then they will get their outstanding installment. Now a day’s we can use different digital tools for this process. So, Pedagogy always create clear leaning objectives, motivate students for active participant and engagement for group work and problem solving exercises. Pedagogy focusing on uses of learning materials creatively for problem solve. As per my understanding, pedagogy        applied various learning contexts including virtual learning, informal learning environment and adult education. For meaningful learning, pedagogy plays a crucial role in facilitating to learners.

C. e-Assessment:

The model of course we are learning in PGD in STEAM education, II Semester which is e-Assessment. As per my understanding e-Assessment is the equivalent of paper and pen. Conducting learning activities using electronic system and technology is known as e-Assessment. The e-Assessment is digital reflective and expressive form of assessment, it is referred to use digital tools and technologies to evaluate students leaning. The digital technology use to promote critical thinking and self-reflection of learners. This e-Assessment system replaces the traditional forms of assessment system like exam and essay, have been used to evaluate student’s learning outcomes. This age is known as digital age. Most of the people wants to became more advance and comfortable, which is cause of development of digital technology. So, e-Assessment has emerged as a powerful tool to enhance assessment practices in the digital age.

II. The Inter connection between e-Assessment in Curriculum and Pedagogy:

As per my understanding the incorporation of e-assessment within curriculum and pedagogy has both advantages and challenges.

a.     Advantages

1.     In this digital age, we found inter connection between each and every element. As per the question connection between e-Assessment in curriculum and pedagogy, we can compare these with a coin. In a coin we found different element and pictures such as, design, shape, format, national identity, values etc., If we remove one part, it seems duplicate. Similarly, e-Assessment in curriculum and pedagogy are 3 inter related element of education in this 21st Century.

2.      Through Curriculum we get the knowledge and skills. Pedagogy is exploring the method and particle process of teaching, learning and assessment process of evaluating as well as through e-Assessment students are authorship of online submission in learning concern grade, so these three elements are foundation of effective education system.

3.     Students are able to develop knowledge and skills through curriculum, pedagogy is promoting the education technique as well as e-assessment address the relevant technique and design the feedback.

4.      When integrating e-assessment into the curriculum, certain considerations addressed and align closely with the intended learning outcomes of the curriculum. The assessment tasks and tools are designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and competencies that the curriculum has been develop students’ ability.

5.     E-assessment focuses on the real-world contexts and provide authentic tasks for engaging students in meaningful learning. The assessment activities are relevant to the curriculum content and promote higher-order thinking skills of students by using digital tools and technique related to curriculum and pedagogy.

6.     Curriculum, pedagogy and e-Assessment are aligned with each other and through this combination, students are meeting the objective of education and promoting an effective learning environment.

b.     Regarding the pedagogy, we found different types of pedagogy such as traditional pedagogy which is based on teachers centric and teacher pass the knowledge and students as passive recipients that knowledge.

c.     Challenges:

  1. Technological Barriers: The integration of e-assessment requires access to reliable technology and internet connectivity, which can be challenging in certain settings or for economically disadvantaged students.
  2. Standardization Concerns: Ensuring the reliability, validity, and fairness of e-assessments across diverse contexts and settings remains a significant challenge, as standardization measures need to be carefully considered.
  3. Cheating and Academic Integrity: e-Assessment introduces new avenues for academic dishonesty, such as online plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, or the misuse of resources. Maintaining academic integrity is essential in the digital assessment landscape.
  4. Teacher Training and Support: Educators need adequate training and ongoing support to effectively integrate e-assessment within their teaching practice. Lack of training can lead to misuse or under-utilization of digital assessment tools.
  5. Regarding the context of Nepali Educational institution, we found huge issues cause of politician leaders. There is no any particular academic objective and goals. If they make some which is can not implement properly. ICT and digital goals cannot use everywhere due to physical diversity. Government cannot provide sufficient educational materials and tools in Government school; only private schools are using as per progressive ways. So, e-assessment system takes time for implement. Near in future by the senior of development of digital technology and Artificial intelligence, our academic system also will be going according to e-system.

III. Conclusion:

Curriculum, pedagogy, and e-assessment are three interconnected parts of education that play vital roles in determining effective learning experiences. The curriculum defines the content, objectives, and standards that students are expected to achieve. Pedagogy refers to the methods, strategies, and approaches used by educators to facilitate learning and engage students. E-assessment involves the use of digital technologies and tools to assess students' knowledge and skills. These their components are effectively integrated and enhance the overall learning process. The process of e-assessment need to consider and careful for plagiarism, The curriculum align with the assessment method and focus on developing the necessary knowledge and skills for students. Pedagogy plays a critical role supportive and engaging learning environment.

The integration of e-assessment within the broader context of curriculum and pedagogy presents both opportunities and challenges.
